Perfect size!

This little parrot purse is perfect with my Renaissance Faire pirate wench costume. He's small, lightweight, the perfect size for carrying a small wallet & a phone, the velcro closure is secure, and he's cute as heck! He's soft and cuddly and sports a dapper little eye-patch. I may actually carry him for regular use as well, just because I like him.

So happy to see this email this morning as I was hoping to get a chance to send my feedback: THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! It was a complete pleasure doing business with you!!! I was VERY hesitant to do business as I am located in Ontario Canada, and really didn’t think my package would make it in time for my party, but I just HAD to have the costume. I took a chance, ordered it, paid the expedited shipping, and it arrived 1 day earlier than it was scheduled to!!! And 5 days before my party!! This costume is awesome. When I got it I expected it to be plastic like it is in the picture but in reality it is satin and stretchy fabrics which look much better than the image. The pleather stockings are awesome too. No part of the costume is itchy and it is exact to the measurement chart. The skirt is a little short but I am quite a tall person. It is fine and still wearable

Very elaborate print on the jumpsuit. Quite clever velcro-attached printed foam pads for shoulder, arm, hand & leg robot parts, which endure kids play. It runs a bit small in size. My boy is 6.5 years old and the 10-12 size we bought for him suited it him fine, since he wore pyjamas on the inside (winter in Greece in February), so I think, he will wear it next year as well, but no more. The only poor thing I could say, was the plain grey back side, compared to the elaborate front. I received it in Greece from Australia, so I should have expected delivery a week ahead of time of placed order. On the whole you made a 6-year old boy crazy happy, so thank you very much CostumeCrazy! Anna Saloura

FAQ — fancy dress in Sydney

What's the difference between fancy dress and costumes?
Same thing, different name. "Fancy dress" is the older Australian and British term for what's now often called costumes or dress-ups. We use the terms interchangeably.

Should I hire or buy?
For one-off events, hiring used to be the default. But these days buying makes more sense — most of our costumes cost less than a hire, you get to keep them, and you can use them again. Plus the range is bigger online than any local hire shop.

How fast can I get a fancy dress costume in Sydney?

Do I need accessories or do costumes come complete?

Costume sizing runs different to regular clothing. Always check the size chart on the product page (chest, waist, hip, length measurements) — and if you're between sizes, size up. Costumes are usually easier to take in than let out.
